MYSTICAL EXPERIENCE – “When Wits meet, Sparks fly out”
Here comes the opportunity, never heard of before rumours spread “we have to confirm” the intellectuals speak out. From whom might they have heard the wild fire spreading from? “We have ought to find out soon” they assert. The concerned students who wished to lead the league of the outing to the Parliament impose; Literature students, the Writers’ club and the Debating club members team up. They journeyed together to the centre of explosion. Meeting Sr. Prisca one of the department members, she was quite explicit about her efforts on the subject matter.
Preparations had to be made earlier through payments and the likely day was Tuesday. Inquiries were made about the places to visit, she mentioned many including “The Parliament and a TV station. The audience seemed to be mostly mesmerized by the two places although more were mentioned, some students were startled from deep thoughts for they had already started imagining themselves shaking hands with the speaker, others had already seen themselves in the media house. “We have to pay” they struck the point with their statement.
On Tuesday morning around 3:40 am, the School Bus (GASO) had left the rarity impressiveness CKS Raving in the School Bus. Some students slept off during the journey to the capital city. Approaching Mengo Buganda Palace, the bus went through an angle 90 degrees to Bulange about 5 miles from the Palace. A cultural meeting was held at the renne, a U-turn had to be made. At “Buganda Palace, we where are” We were welcomed. The guide gave us some brief history about Buganda Kingdom and gave us some insights of what we would see behind the scenes. His brief communication intrigued our minds only waiting to get started.
Mr. Onyango the ‘Literature teacher’ held his phone camera and we all posed for the photo with pride and enthusiasm next to Kabaka’s palace. We learnt a lot especially about the previous governments of Uganda notably the Muteesa I reign, the autocratic leadership of Amin Dada and the heroic invasion of the NRA, the current NRM movement. Depriving deeper into Buganda, we visited the Buganda Media station; BBS Terefayina Eyaffe and CBS offices. Some students were on cloud nine after having a glance on their role models like Sandra Nabaggala the news anchor.
Heading to the Ugandan Parliament with a mixture of joy and happiness, one had to make use of the saying “Patience Pains But Pays” and so we had to await at the gates of the Parliament patiently under the sweltering sun. Later on after entering, our jazzed faces were brought back to normal by the rarebits of the favour we had. We were allowed into the chamber room where our presence ‘Christ the King SS Kalisizo was recognized by the Deputy Speaker. The spillovers of the mystic moments of the journey up to now inspires many to become valuable people who will create a positive impact to the world.
