Always begin with the end in mind. In whatever you either do or want to do, always begin with the result. The result should be at the back of your mind. This will push you to put in more effort hence shining in the end.
Know your identity. Nothing should define you and do not compare yourself to anyone. Be the first person to appreciate yourself before others do. This will help you make independent decisions that are important and also avoid identity crisis.
Likes and followers on any social media platform should not define you. Forms of identity crisis include;
- bad peer influence
- posting and viewing media videos that are pornographic and addictive as well as destructive among others.
Forgiveness is medicine that relieves a wounded heart. Keeping anger burdens your heart that it may affect your own thinking. You can never think straight about someone when you are angry towards them. “You may be angry towards someone who even does not know about your feelings.” Therefore, forgive them and free yourself.
FORGIVENESS RELIEVES THE HEART AND IS A CURE FOR MENTAL PROBLEM
The greatest tragedy in life is not death, but a life without a purpose. Without a purpose in life, you are like wind, moving in all direction. Be ready to receive any constructive advice since two heads are better than one. Have a purpose in life and stick to it so that you can prosper.
God knows what you can do best though personally you may not know when He speaks. The best thing to do is to pray as well as strengthen your faith in God so than He can show you a better way to go when the right time comes. Remember, prayer with faith can move mountains.
Have a vision for yourself. Where do you see yourself in ten years to come? In this, a man without vision perishes. In addition to that, when you aim at nothing, you hit nothing. Vision therefore simplifies life and controls choices. All in all, vision is a call in line with God’s purpose in your life.
Having a background with someone doesn’t mean that you have a future with them. Therefore, think twice before continuing your friendship with some people. Some people have destructive ideas and are good at leading others to wrong directions. They pretend to be happy with you but the realty is the opposite.
Life is a fight for territory, once you stop fighting for what you want, what you don’t want will immediately take over. So, watch out and think straight.
For all the above, thanks to “The retreat and recollection” held at Christ the King SS Kalisizo from Friday 6th June 2025 to Sunday 8th June 2025. It was a three days retreat facilitated by NET Ministries Uganda. It is not the first time to hold a retreat in our school but this is one of the kind.
A lot was learnt, seriously speaking, on behalf of all the CKS students, at least all of us learnt something new that will build our lives. Retreats are not only about preaching God’s words or reading the Bible but also sharing real life situations and experiences so that we can learn different lessons that are life driving.
Thanks to the school Administration that is always there to support us, allowing time for these programmes to take place since it is not that life is only built on education and that we should only aim for it but also build our spiritual life and also get to know what to do and when to do it.
Thanks to our school Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Bruno Martin Sserunkuuma for introducing this programme of termly retreats contributing to our exposure as well as spiritual well being. They are also full of fun, lessons and more to that we have spiritual development.
